Le Coureur des bois is a full-bodied firm cheese with Indian spices, notably cumin. It’s great on the barbecue and adds a boost of flavor to cold cuts and hamburgers. As a third course, its sharp taste is a delicious way to end a meal.

Naturally it goes wonderfully with robust beers and medium- or full-bodied red wines such as Médoc, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Chianti, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Zinfandel, as well as with port, white dessert wines, Sauterne, late harvest wines, ice wine, and cider.

The result of the work of proud, conscientious cheesemakers, Le Coureur des bois has earned numerous distinctions, notably at the American Cheese Society Awards.
